After a great Welsh breakfast at Brian's B&B and a morning listening to stories of Brian's extremely interesting life, he took us back to the train station so that we could be the "tourists" and ride the Talyllyn Railway, which is a historic narrow-gauge steam engine train. It was so much fun! We got off at Dolgoch (almost the end of the line) so that we could hike up to see the rain forest and 3 beautiful waterfalls. After our hike, we took another train up toward the end of the line, Abergynolwyn, where we were to meet Brian at 12:30pm. Our fantastic tour guide was only a few minutes late since he had fallen asleep at home :-). Once we got Clark Kent out of the phone booth, we all joined up and then had lunch at the Railway Inn in Abergynolwyn.
After lunch, Brian took us to Ynysymaengwyn Caravan & Woodland Park, which is situated on the grounds of an old Manor House. It was a beautiful estate dating back to 1263. It was used as a military training grounds at one time. We had a very beautiful hike around the scenic woodland area. Our 86-year-old host had no problem keeping up with us "youngsters" on this hike! The park is currently being used a camping area. We then went back to Brian's house to visit him and his cat, Sooty. We later decided to go to the Salt Marsh Bistro for a pizza dinner.
