September 14 2016 Oldest Pub in London and "Wicked"
This was our day with nothing scheduled (at least initially!). We had lunch at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. Blaine had been to this pub with Evan on his first trip to London, which was when Evan was studying abroad in Spain. He had a few free days between semesters, so Blaine decided to join him in London. This pub is the oldest pub in England. It's almost like a cave with 2 levels underneath the ground floor. Blaine had fish & chips, and Jeri had a vegetarian panini. We then took the tube back to Victoria Station and headed to the Victoria Apollo Theater for "Wicked". The play and theater were fantastic! Still very hot in London, but we went home and washed a load of clothes because we are heading out of London to Bath tomorrow morning. We were a bit hungry that evening so went to a wonderful restaurant that we have passed at least twice each day since we have arrived. It is the Best Mangal Restaurant. It is Turkish food. Wonderful atmosphere and food! Blaine loved the lamb dish that he had. Mine was a vegetarian kabob with some bbq cheese. This was my least favorite meal while here in London. But we have really had fantastic food on this trip! I didn't intend to write so much about food, but everything has been so delicious that I can't help myself!! It also helps Blaine and I remember where we are when we have a hint of the meal.
