September 12 2016 Hampton Court Palace
We took the Tube and a train to Hampton Court Palace. This was the home of Henry VIII. VERY interesting to learn about his life (and all his 6 wives). The antiquities in all these places are amazing. Art and furnishings that date back 500 years are difficult to comprehend. How the heck did they make these palaces with the enormously intricate ceilings? We were able to tour Henry VII's kitchen, which they have done a great job in restoring and describing life and work during those times. This is Blaine's favorite palace so far :-) We had lunch at the Mute Swan, just across from the palace. Blaine had Bangers & Mash. Jeri had a yummy vegie sandwich. Because I am always so starved by the time we have a meal, I keep ordering an appetizer. The description was "sweet peppers stuffed w/cream cheese), so I thought we could both eat them. The peppers were actually quite spicy, so I got to eat them all myself :-) Delicious!!
