September 8 2016 London at Last

Sept 8, 2016 (Thursday):  So, we finally arrive in London!  Lots of time since we left PDX on the Mon night Red-Eye.  My 30 years @ UA paid off again as Blaine got First & I got Business Class, which also allowed us to visit the Arrivals Lounge @ LHR when we arived @ 5:39 am.  We took a shower & felt much better.  We hung out in the lounge for a couple hours because the flat we rented on VRBO wasn't ready till 9am.  We found our way to the flat in West Kensington at 62 Avonmore Rd, via the Underground (Tube).  Trying to adjust to the time zone,  we used our London Pass to take the Hop On/Off bus. Although we saw lots of cool things from the top of the double-decker,the only sight we visited that day was the Churchill War Room.   It was a very interesting tour of the underground bunker that Churchill and his staff used during the war.
