September 5 2016 Always an Adventure
Because the Space Available flights look bad, we are now leaving on the Red-Eye flight on Monday, Sept, 5, 2016 (actually Labor Day).
Tue, Sept 7, 2016: We spent 1-1/2 days in Chicago ( quite enough since it is 90 degrees w/same #humidity). We mostly slept (since no sleep on the Red-Eye) and stayed in the AC of the Crown Plaza-ORD. Blaine met a nice couple @ the bar (while Jeri slept) who had just arrived ORD from LHR. Their names are Shireen & Ged. They are in the US for a family wedding in Michigan. They are the first "new" friends" to get our new business cards :-)!
Quite happily, we got on the 3:50 pm flight from ORD-LHR! To my surprise, as we were boarding the plane, I recognized the Flight Attendant greeting us at the door. Her name is Paula, and I used to work with her in the LA Sales Office for UA. It has been 28 years since we have seen each other! She looks exactly the same!! She is now working for UA as an International FA based in Chicago. We had lots of fun catching up with each other.
