Wednesday July 19 2017 Loch Lomond

As we left Inverness on the next part of our adventure, we drove through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world!  We still hadn't found Nessie, but can understand why she (he?) hangs out in this part of the world.   We stopped in Fort William for a pit stop and then got to The Lodge on Loch Lomond, which was another 3-1/2 hour drive from Inverness.  Blaine was an amazing driver (even without his Magic Hat!), which we were all quite thankful for!

The Lodge on Loch Lomond is located in the picturesque village of Luss, which is also the Scottish home of the Canfield's dear friend, Rosemary Brawner, who passed away in September 2011.  Although we were not successful in meeting up with Rosemary's niece, Ali Gorman (who lives outside of Glasgow), it was wonderful to see where Rosemary spent much of her life.  Luss is an amazingly beautiful place!

We all enjoyed walking around the quaint village of Luss.  We then had a fantastic dinner at the Village Rest in Luss.  After dinner, we hiked around a bit more and visited the scenic cemetery right on the Loch.  For a final resting place, we all agreed that Luss beats out all the other cemeteries in the world!

We had a drink in the bar of the Lodge, which has a spectacular view of Loch Lomond.  Then we headed back to the Wetteraus' room, where the men's Scottish luck continued in another exciting game of Spades!
