June 24 2017 Luxembourg to Bernkastel/Cochem
We got up this morning after a well-rested night. After heading down to the local coffee shop/antique store/deli/furniture store (yes they had all of those in one shop), we drove to the small town of Bernkastel in Germany. Bernkastel is situated on the Moselle river in the Moselle Valley wine region. It is a beautiful little town. Next up was the town of Cochem. We were supposed to stay in town that night, but there was a mixup on the dates for the reservation. No worry. We found a cute little hotel about 3 minutes upriver. I think it actually worked out better as the hotel had a back patio with a gorgeous view of the hotel winery. After Jude went to bed, the 4 of us stayed up talking, laughing and enjoying the local wines on that back patio!
