September 6, 2022 - Brugge
We woke up this morning and bought tickets to take the train back to Amsterdam Central train station. Goodbye Schiphol Airport (also known as Shithole). Upon arrival at the Central train station, we stopped at the Doner place for lunch. We then bought our train tickets to Brugges from a very nice gentleman in the train service center. After all the chaos of the last few days we decided to buy first class tickets!! Once on the train we settled into a private room in the first class section. Home run!!
Upon arriving in Brugges we took a taxi to Hotel Dukes Palace. The place is beautiful. It is the former home of the Burgundian aristocracy built in the 1400s and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We were actually in the Residence section, which is a separate building right next to the main hotel.
After checking in we walked around the corner to The Bohemian burger restaurant. Yes, Jeri ate at a burger restaurant! She said it was the best vegetarian burger she has ever had!! Blaine had the fish burger, and after a quick stop after dinner at the gelato shop we headed back to the hotel.
