Luxembourg & Germany September 17-29 2018

Monday September 17 - After a long day of travel we arrived in Milan and checked into the Sheraton hotel at Milan airport. We will be getting up at 3:30 tomorrow morning to fly from Milan to Luxembourg.

We arrived in Luxembourg today!! After picking up our car from Budget we drove to see Evan, Jess, Jude and Lila. This is what Grandpa and Grandma were waiting for since leaving on our trip almost a month ago. Not that we didn’t have lots of fun on the way!!!

After spending a few days at Evan and Jess’s house in Luxembourg we all headed to Leiwen Germany to spend time at the Landal Sonnenberg kids resort.

Landal Sonnenberg is a resort near the town of Leiwen. It sits on the top of a hill overlooking the Mosel river and the Mosel valley. There are plenty of activities for both kids and adults, including a number of outdoor playgrounds, a huge indoor playground, an indoor pool, a deer meadow where you can feed the deer, biking paths, walking paths, mini golf. Oh, and did I mention it’s in the heart of the wine growing region of the Mosel River Valley? Some of the best Rieslings in the world.

The grapes are everywhere!! Absolutely beautiful.

It’s really amazing how the vineyards are all on the sides of the hill. We saw the workers harvesting grapes manually and by machine.
