Friday July 21 2017 Home at Last

Today is the last day of our vacation. What a time we have had! We got up at 4:45 am to head to Glasgow airport. Our flight leaves at 9:00, but we didn't know what to expect at the airport so we left at 6:15. We got to the airport with plenty of time to spare, although the rental car return area was not easy to find. We had to leave John & Reid at the security checkpoint. They were not allowed past security because their flight was not scheduled until around 1:00 and they were told it was too early. We found out later that they actually caught an earlier flight from JFK to PDX and got home 3 hours before we did:-)

We made it to Newark, where we were supposed to have a 6.5 hour layover. It was actually an 8.5 hour layover. Spent a lot of time catching up on the blog and hanging around the United Club! Once we got on the flight it was great. We got an exit row all to ourselves. Tried not to sleep too much so we could sleep when we got home and get on a regular schedule.  

Blaine arranged an Uber after we got our bags, around 11:00 pm. It was a much nicer ride than the Shuttle Express, and we didn't have to worry about the driver dropping someone else off before us. Just wanted to get home!!  A great end to a WONDERFUL vacation!!

This was our view as we loaded the car to head to the airport. Tough to leave!
